Promoting Strong U.S.-Israel Ties

Adar Morag, a Goizueta Business School junior from Boca Raton, Fla., and a leader in the Emory Israel Public Affairs Committee, wrote an op-ed piece that appeared in the Emory Wheel today. In it, she argues that the U.S. relationship with Israel is a strategic one that is "useful and reliable":

Detractors argue that moral obligation and trade relations do not justify a strong relationship with Israel. These detractors fail to recognize that what the U.S. gains from this relationship vastly outweighs such unfounded perceptions....We must focus on the substance of the relationship: the U.S. has an advantage because it has Israel. The Jewish state strengthens and secures us.
