The following is an email we received from a recent Emory alum, Josh Langer, who was a member of the Hillel student board and of Kol Hanesher, Emory's Jewish a capella group. Josh now works for BBYO and is working on his MBA in nonprofit management and a Masters in Jewish Education. We wish Josh and Esther, who met at Hillel, mazal tov on their recent wedding. (Note: If you have your own story, we'd love to hear from you. Please leave a comment below, and we'll be in touch.)
Hi Michael,
I wanted to be in touch to wish you a hearty congratulations on the new Hillel center!
The pictures that I've seen look beautiful and I'm sure it will give a huge boost to the program at Emory. I can't wait to see it in person. It seems like everything is going really well, and it makes me proud that Hillel at Emory now has such a wonderful opportunity to grow in a way that wasn't possible several years ago when I was there. I can only imagine how much easier it will be to build a more vibrant and welcoming Jewish community at Emory, and how much easier it will be to position the Jewish community at Emory, in general.
Emory Hillel has a special place in my heart. Esther and I were married last summer - and looking back, our first "date" started at a Hillel Friday night service, which at the time was in a bare, multi-purpose room at the DUC. Hopefully you'll have many more relationships bloom at Hillel, just now with much nicer surroundings.
I look forward to hearing about bigger and better things at Emory Hillel.
Take care and keep in touch,
Josh Langer
